When you submit a sourcing request, we work our network of vetted third-party dealers and secondary market sources to locate the specific equipment you need. This model means we can source a wider range of configurations than any single-inventory reseller can stock — but it also means availability is sourced to order rather than pulled from a shelf.
How long does it take to source specific equipment?
For common enterprise platforms — recent-generation Dell, HP, Cisco, and Lenovo equipment — we can typically identify available options within one to two business days of a sourcing request. Older platforms, unusual configurations, or highly specific requirements may take longer. If your timeline is tight, tell us upfront and we will prioritize accordingly.
What warranty do I get on equipment sourced through you?
All refurbished hardware sourced through We Buy Used IT Equipment is backed by our 90-day unconditional guarantee — the same warranty that applies to all refurbished equipment we sell. Used hardware carries a 30-day DOA guarantee. New equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty. Re-certified tape media carries a 90-day unconditional guarantee plus a lifetime defect warranty. Returns are handled directly by us.
Can you source equipment I am not finding elsewhere?
Quite possibly. Because we are active buyers in the secondary market, we have relationships and visibility into supply that is not always reflected in public dealer listings. If you have been unable to find a specific configuration through standard channels, describe what you need and we will tell you honestly whether we can locate it and at what timeline.
Can you source both the replacement equipment and handle the buyback of what I am retiring?
Yes — and this is a common arrangement. We evaluate your outgoing hardware for buyback at the same time we locate your replacement equipment. The asset recovery value from what you are retiring can partially or fully offset the cost of what you are sourcing, depending on the equipment involved.
Do you source equipment for international buyers?
Yes. We source US enterprise hardware for international buyers with verified provenance documentation, export compliance review, and international logistics coordination. For buyers who need documented enterprise origin and export-compliant shipping, we provide both.
Is there a minimum order size for sourcing requests?
No. We handle single-unit sourcing requests and large lot orders. If you need one specific server or one pallet of tape media, the sourcing process is the same. There is no minimum to submit a request.
What condition grades are available for refurbished equipment?
We source equipment across condition grades: Grade A (full refurbishment, minor cosmetic wear, meets manufacturer spec), Grade B (fully functional, more visible cosmetic wear, performs to spec), and Grade C (used, functional, cosmetic condition reflects active use). Grade is disclosed on every sourcing option we present, and pricing reflects the grade accordingly. We can specify a preferred grade in your sourcing request if condition is important for your use case.
